Designed by Javier Arana and opened in 1965, this magnificent 18 hole, par 72 course is located on a gently rolling terrain.  Crossed by the river of the same name. The Rio Real Golf Course takes players on a round in the midst of a large variety of trees, with pine and palm trees dominating up to the 4th hole near the Mediterranean sea.

A new design concept, big tees and greens with no rough on 75% of the course, includes the latest grass-types (Bermuda 419 and Pemcross). Located in the centre of the Marbella courses (East Marbella), with the most recent USGA specifications, it could be defined as a relatively hazard-free Park-land.
